Place 3D object in 2D drawing

I have  "Workplace mechanical" created 2D drawing and I want to place the 3D object created in another drawing in 3D modeling workplace.

 

When I turn the 2d drawing into 3D drawing to rotate my 3d object it messes up the 2d drawing.

 

Please, advise the process to have the 3d object in 2D drawing

Yes, I was able to switch to SE Isometric view. But it appears as a
framelie and not as a shaded object.

right next to the drop down list for view is another one for visual style same spot upper left of view port

ok well if he did not know where it was in the first place I'm sure he did not customize it lol. but yes there is more than one way to do anything in the all mighty AutoCAD.

The "viewbase" command works better then vieports. The only problem how to rotate the object in the viewbase. The orientation option does not provide the right view of the 3d object.

 

The edit tool has no option to change orientation.

Please, see attached file and assist...

you need to use 3droate command and rotate to the correct orientation prior to starting the viewbase command. Im all for helping but are you even trying dude?
