PDF IMPORT not working

Hi all,

In advance, thank you for reading and giving your time to help with this issue I am having. I have looked all over the internet and cannot find anything on this. Recently, my IMPORT tool for PDFs stopped working. When I go to import I simply use the IMPORT command, I select the PDF file, which is normally followed by a window that allows me to select the page of the import, and the settings for how to configure/format it. That window does not come up, and it leaves AC frozen in the middle of the import command, so I then have to cancel to unfreeze.

I don't know if this explanation is helpful at all, but it is really that simple. I just have not been able to get past this step. Let me know if I can clarify at all.

Thanks for your help!

Hi,

I'll give some hints that may help ..

  • Turn OFF hardware acceleration from Graphicsconfig command , any changes ?
  • Reset AutoCAD to default settings . >> Click <<

Try using one of these, they are specifically for PDFs.

  1. PDFIMPORT=>FILE=>Browse to file=>Open
  2. PDFATTACH=>FILE=>Browse to file=>Open

It's possible that the window that allows you to select the page of the import is shown off screen.

Try when you're at this step to do the following on your keyboard:

1. press the Alt + Space bar keyboard combination

2. hit M on keyboard

3. tap on any one of the arrow keys (up, down, left or right)

4. move your mouse around and see if the window appears on the screen

You have dragged the dialog off the screen when a secondary monitor was connected.  See this blog post for a couple things to try to restore its location.
