PDF for roll paper plot

Hello,

We are about to deliver a large project in another town. So we think it is a good idea to make PDFs and use them for plotting there.

The problem is I don't know how to make a pdf for roll paper. It looks like I'm gonna need a 120 cm roll paper, I think it is about 48". And the approximate length of a set (of many) may be about 12-15 meters. So I thought I could make a custom paper size for 1200 x 15000 mm. But the pdf drivers in my disposal don't let me. They say it is larger than what the device supports.

And I have Acrobat X Pro and Bluebeam Cad 2015 here. I don't know if its possible if these 2 can't do the job. I even tried to make a page with HEIDI option of Bluebeam, but can't make a custom page that big.

Is there a way to manage this?

Thank you in advance.

You need to find a PDF driver that allows for such a huge custom paper size: start inquiring at those PDF manufacturer support sites.

I had a similiar problem with plotting to a HP DesigJet xxx plotter.

We modified the configuration file (.drc) from the Autodesk HPGL/2 plotter driver.

And because most plotter understand you can also send a HPGL/2 file to a plotter.

Now we can create 15000 X 15000 mm HPGL/2 files.

If this is and option for you, let me know, than I will send you the .drc file for the HPGL/2 driver.

regards

Hello,
Thank you, and sorry for very late answer. I was so deep into this deadline. I thought that I could request the printer driver from the plotter service, so that I could make a print ready file for them. But I feared that would complicate the process, because the service in that small town was not so capable with these issues.

After all we prepared everything in autocad, so many xrefs, wipeouts, solid fills, etc. Fingers crossed our people got into some issues there, but after some workarounds it was ok.

But it would all be easier if I could make this pdf.
