Paste multiple Revit exports, containing same families, into AutoCAD drawing

I exported several sections to .dwg from Revit 2024. There are some of the same families in both sections.
If I now open these .dwg drawings in AutoCAD 2024, there is absolutely nothing wrong and the same thing is displayed as what I see in Revit.

If I now copy everything from both section drawings into 1 other drawing, then nothing happens when pasting the first blocks from 1 drawing. But if I now paste everything from the 2nd section drawing into the other drawing, the families that appear in both section drawings are displayed differently than in the original.

This way, instead of the front, I see the back of families (rotated 180 degrees around the Y and/or X axis).

I can still understand this because the name of the Revit family is also the name of the AutoCAD block.

But to solve this problem I can burst/explode everything in export drawing and then paste it into the other drawing.

Now I can also export a .dxf from Revit, but this does not make it any clearer. I need everything in 2D and not 3D.

Is there any other way to resolve this?

The attached image shows what I mean:
At the top what is the original, in the middle what appears when I paste everything into the other drawing after the other section has already been pasted in. And at the bottom you can see what is visible after pasting.
(What you see is a boiler with water pipes, drain and a water tap.)

Sounds like you’re experiencing the dreaded nested block problem or the blocks are named the same but graphically looks different in one dwg vs another

what if instead of copy and pasting you use the xref command to attach both dwgs into the new dwg?

Hello Paullimapa,

If I attach the exported Revit sections into the drawing, everything is fine. Then there are no problems with the view of the blocks/ Revit families.
If I copy one of these .dwg exports to the other .dwg export or both exports to one other drawing, the problem occur again.

Here’s another way to solve your problem. After you xref each of the sections into another dwg use the xref bind * option. If prompted to insert or bind, select the bind option. Then enter the explode command and select the bound xrefs. Now you can copy the exploded parts to another dwg and there would be no longer similar block name problems because bound xref blocks are renamed with the dwg name as prefix so one xrefs blocks will now have unique names from another

I have never used the bind function and actually didn't know what it was for. But now it is.
Now all blocks indeed have an addition to their original block name, which prevents duplicate blocks from being created.

Thank you Paullimapa!

I'll think of you when I grab a beer or other alcoholic drink at the end of July.

I am now drinking water and coffee only to lose weight and am working hard on my fitness. At the end of July, I will take part in an event where I will cycle around the Nurburgring circuit for 24 hours. This is to see what I am capable of, but the most important thing is to raise money for the Dutch KWF Cancer Fund. My current fundraising goal is now at least €1500.
Of course for a reason...

My target is to cycle 15 laps, which amounts to 390 kilometers with an elevation gain of 8,400 metres. Not an easy task anyway and certainly not with my not unusual cyclist build (2m tall and currently 120kg).
