Partial Print Area [Sometimes]

Sometimes [like once in 10 prints] a print will result with large swaths of the page being blank.

Something like the bottom left quarter of the page always prints successfully.

Is anyone else having this issue?

This is very hard to diagnose.

Are you using PUBLISH command? Then turn off background publishing, that should help.

if this happens only when you PLOT, you are probably missing what you have set for WHAT TO PLOT, it is only over an area that is not "all of it".

We are using the PUBLISH command, but it doesn't seem to happen all the time. Turning off background publishing didn't seem to make a difference.

As far as WHAT TO PLOT parameters go, it appears correctly configured. I'll support this notion by adding, we'll receive a botched print, and simply printing again will result in a successful print.

100% agree to anyone who says this is a vague issue to troubleshoot. Greatly appreciate any thoughts!

Sadly, you cannot control that without knowing exactly what challenge was in place at that creation time. Sorry.

I've had this happen occasionally, although not recently.  When it does happen, it is when I'm doing a one-off partial page print.  For example, we have 24" x 36" layouts set up in paper space, but I may want to print off just one portion of that page (an elevation, for instance).  I will manually override the page setup from "Layout" to "Window" and make the window selection.  Then it's the luck of the draw of whether I get my full window selection or not.  When I say "print", we never actually print anymore; just print to PDF.  It only happens in paper space, not model space.

My workaround is to print the full sheet and then crop down the portion I need in Photoshop.  I've never found a fix for the problem in AutoCAD.
