Paper Space Draw Order

Hi, 

I am using AutoCad 2019 and since installing it I have had issues in paper space with draw order. When I send objects to the front or back it appears to work but, once I switch layout tabs or go to model space the draw order reverts to the order objects were inserted into the drawing.

As workaround change the creationorder

Move your objects by side and copy them back in order you need.

I am also having this issue. Anyone find a solution besides that workaround?

a.) as first you should show that your product is fully updated

      (screenshot of ABOUT dialog)

b.) and describe what your problem is in detail

c.) describe it on a concrete and easy sample, upload this sample.dwg and describe the steps (step by step)

     so we can reproduce your way and perhaps the problem.

Likewise, I'm having this same issue. Hopefully a solution is found soon. In the meantime I'll be switching layers around between printing and editing.

What is the Current value of DRAWORDERCTL system variable? Try Setting it to 3

It is currently set to 3. Interestingly I did not have an issue when using VPfreeze earlier.

VP FREEZE ?

Why do you write about VP Freeze, though your issue is the draworder?

And what is you current productversion (command: _vernum) ?

Is the draworder okay in your plot (try it DWG TO PDF.pc3) ? If Yes, check your WHIPTHREAD setting.

Anf if your plot and whipthread is ok, make sure we are not talking about LayoutregenCTL setting and REGENALL command.

I just had an issue where the objects in paper space were always behind objects in viewports.  In the PAGESETUP command, I chose the layout, went to the modify menu and checked off the "plot paperspace last" box and it fixed the issue.  Hope this helps

This is still an issue in 2024 (and I imagine 2025). Has zero to do with the viewport since it is not over my drawing. In my case I have an image that just always wants to be in the front. Only happens in paperspace.... The move and copy back thing does not work...Is there a display order just for images/attachments?

We can't see what you see: share your DWG file with the image in it here please.

Is that an OLE, or an attached image? On what layer is it on?

What are you trying to push it behind?

What if you pull everything else forward?

How do you know it is failing, is it just when you plot? Or a display that a REGEN or REGENALL will correct?

Or a change to your hardware acceleration settings needed?

I did the move thing but move the whole thing then copied it back and it is fine. BUT if I send the attached .png to the back it sends it to the front for some reason after a regen. Going to try to resist touching display order in paperspace for the image.

To re-create attach image to paperspace. Draw a line over the image. Send the image to the back. Hit regen.

This is not how it is working on my PC. In model space yes but even solid hatches are moving to the front in paperspace... Also, draworder is not on my right click shortcut menu like yours.

It can be, just customize using CUI command.
