Opening design centre?

I am struggling to open the design centre, I know its control key and 2 but all that happens is '_adcentre appears in the command line - what am I doing wrong?

Hi,

Try Command DC for design center and check whether its coming. Check LOCKUI variable is on. Make it to <0>

Also try to change your work space as it may be an issue of minimized palette.
