Hello and good morning,

Im working with M-files and autocad 2024.

When i open a autocad, im getting the screen with the recent opened files.
When i'm going to m-files or go to my local drive and i double click on a DWG file, autocad opens an news session. so i have 2 times autocad running.
When i double click another DWG file another session opens.

When i open the first autocad session and than drag de second file in the tab line beside the fist drawing it works without any problem.

I already tried SDI but this is "0"

anyone an idea?

IT of Sunoco is blaming the last update of autocad but i think this is bs 😉

Hi,

file doubleclick action is controled by windows, I guess the .dwg (dxf/dwt) file extension is not linked to AcLauncher.exe.

AcLauncher.exe decide to open which program and instance should be use.

Unload M-Files, problem should go away.

Need M-Files? You'll have to go ask them for help.

Try this method:

Delete registry keys for current file association.
  1. Exit AutoCAD.
  2. Press WINDOWS-R on the keyboard to bring up the Run window, enter REGEDIT, and click OK.
  3. Delete these Registry keys:
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.dwg
  4. Reboot the computer.
  5. Associate a DWG file with AcLauncher.exe see DWG file type associativity in Windows😞
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\AcShellEx\AcLauncher.exe

This should address the kind of issues.
