one or more objects in the drawing cannot be saved

why am i suddenly getting this message? in 2017 version?  I did not set up a standard???

It turns out that someone linked a *.dwt (template) by accident. I removed it, then I also did an audit , to repair the file and purged afterwards. After that, the message disappeared all together. Initially i did an audit and purge first and did not get the message when I tried saving it. But once you exist out and re-opened that same CAD file, the message returned.  I then checked if anything was attached and/or linked a file, that's how I found that a *.dwt was attached to it.  This is now marked solved

How do i find the attached or linked file to clear this?

For me, the problem was that our ACAD Autosave was set to save in a folder on a small partition of the hard drive.

When that folder filled up, it began to generate that error message.

Solution = changed the folder of Autosave to a folder on the main hard drive -  C:\ACAD Autosave
