Offset view problem

Hi, I'm new to the forums here and refreshing my AutoCAD skills.

I'm trying to create an offset view for a TryIt exercise in the 2013 and beyond engineering graphics.

Under 'Create View' I click on 'Section' and bring up 'Offset'(or any other section for that matter) and it opens up Mtext. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

Take a snapshot of that page and let's see the what it said in the exercise and attach it here.

Could be you're using the ribbons and it's different with tool bars.

All the exercise says is to 'center three views within the work area and make one view an offset view', which is fine in itself. I can hatch the view properly, but I am not able to get the offset lines positioned in the corresponding view, if that makes sense.

I am in fact using the ribbon editor, which brings up Mtext oddly enough. Where might I find the toolbar for creating the section view? I was only able to find the ribbon via the Autodesk help in the program where it 'finds' the buttons for you. So due to that, it limits my functionality.

I appreciate the response.
