Object snap target box always on - BUG, GLITCH?

I searched the forum and only found one unanswered question on this subject.  Sometimes my object snap target box gets "stuck" on.  I'll be in a command and think my snaps are on because the box shows up, but when I hit F3 the box stays visible whether the snap is on or off, or it opens the osnap dialog if snaps were off and I don't have any snap modes selected (super annoying after about the 20th time in 5 minutes).

I have noticed that if I change my pickbox setting from 5 to something else, then back to 5, it will work correctly for a while, but within the day, it's back to always on.

Known bug?  If so, I hope the pickbox workaround helps someone else out.

The system variable monitor seemed interesting, but was a little overwhelming.  Who knew variables change so much in the background?  If it was a matter of a variable getting changed when I wasn't looking, I would have invested more in tweaking it, but since my problem is that the snap box is showing when the variable is already telling it not to, I kind of gave that up for the time being.

The last suggestion to try is a repair install, but I have been too busy to take the time to do that as my problem is an annoyance, not a deal breaker.

@mpa-la

Just wanted to check back to see if you still needed help with this issue.

Have you had more time to work on this and try some of the repair or reset suggestions?

Please do not hesitate to post back for more assistance if needed!

I wonder why I have only been experiencing this since I installed 2015...  I imagine I have accidentally hit F4 before, but I don't ever remember having a snap aperture that wasn't snapping to anything.  Certainly not constantly like it has been lately.  Weird.  This is what I get for never doing any 3D work 🙂

I HAVE EXACTLY THE SAME ISSUE AND I'VE TRIED ALL THE WAYS YOU MENTIONED BUT DIDN'T FIX THAT, IT'S SO ANNOYING, IT HAS BEEN FIXED WHILE BEFORE WHEN I WAS TRYING, BUT SUDDENLY THE ISSUE CAME BACK NOW, I USED TO HAVE THE OPTION "DISPLAY AUTOSNAP APERTURE BOX ON.. BUT THE BOX SHOULD TURN OFF WHEN F3 IS OFF WHICH IS NOT HAPPENING NOW.

Did you try toggling F4?  That was my problem, it's 3d snap and it's aperture looks just like the F3 regular snap.  Watch the command line and make sure F3 says it's off, then hit F4 and see what it says.

You must first go into ModelSpace, hit F4 or use the icon to turn 3DOsnaps off.  Now return to PaperSpace and try again.
