Funny , I didn't purchase this software to build my character. I purchased it for making drawings.

Were you able to resolve this issue? Or find an alternate method for adding layers to a group filter? I too started experiencing this irritating issue just after updating my OS to Win11. I highly agree with you, and believe this is the root of the problem.

Same issue, same OS here -> Click!

So my guessing could be right and it is one of the win11-ACAD bugs

Start an AutoDESK support-case for this!

I have been having the same issues with not able to place layers in their filters.

So here's what works for me:

Right Click Your Group Filter

Select "Select Layers", then "Add"

You will then get your pickbox, Select the Objects from your Drawing that are On the Layers that you wish to add to that Group Filter.

Then hit Enter

You will be selecting the Line, Circles, Blocks, etc... that represent the Layers that you want in that Group Filter.

FYI:

Windows 11 could be the issue.

Note that although AutoCAD and the 2021 and 2022 Toolkit are fully compatible with Windows 11 (AutoCAD and Windows 11 Toolkit Compatibility), the operating system requirements still recommend Windows 10. In fact, the " Certified Graphics Hardware "does not yet offer the option for Windows 11.

I think that's going to be a moot point for a lot of people.

In my case I'm using a consumer GFX card (Nvidia GTX 1080Ti) which wasn't certified for Win 10 and worked fine. It's clearly just a Win 11 bug, no more, no less. I'm sure Autodesk will iron it out at some point.

Has there been any confirmation on whether this is a Windows11 glitch?  I am having the same problem as well.

Hi,

I was having the same issue and found a quick solution.  Highlight the labels that you want to move, then click into somewhere in the filter pane.  This will cause them to go from a blue highlight to a grey.  You should then be able to click and drag like normal into the filter that you want to add to.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

I tried your approach and could not make it work. As soon as I grab the layers with the mouse they become blue again and instead of dragging event a window selection is started.

I was hoping this would be fixed in 2022.1.2 which was released of Feb. 28th but it wasn't.

Has a solution been found for this issue yet? I am a teacher and currently have 2 students with the same issue with 2022. I have worked with one and updated to the latest service pack which made no difference.

They are working remotely so I do not know what pc/laptop they are using

Dang, sorry about that.  I will say that it only seems to work with filters that I have created.  There is a different icon associated with filters that are part of a template my company created that the solution I suggested does not work with.  Not sure what it means.

The "TEST" filter is one I created (notice the different icon) and the select, click, drag method I mentioned is working on mine.

@charles.langdaleW7UFJ

Propertiesfilter can not edit by drag'n'drop by logic,

we are talking about GROUPfilter (like your Test-Filter) on WINDOWS11 machines only.

Do you have a win11 OS?

I am asking because you don't know the difference of properties/group filters and nobody with win11 used your offered workaround with success.

If you have win11, please share a screecast as 'How to' for other users, thx
