non selectable layout/object

Hi, I want to get to the point where I have an object that can be seen and when I click on it it doesn't mark it at all (it can still be marked when it's locked).
I use AutoCAD 2014

Thanks in advance ❤️

It really marks, like you select a block and it is marked, that's how it is even when the layer is locked, you simply cannot delete, move or edit the block.
What I want is for the block to not even be marked

AutoCAD has no "see it but not select it" nor a "lock an object or block" option, especially if you don't want to lock it's layer that you seem to indicate is acceptable, sorry.

You could just turn off PICKFIRST and PICKADD variables if you are trying to not have anything selected when you launch a command: look up usage in HELP.

OR... while in a layout, if that object is inside a viewport (aka it resides on modelspace), that will get you a bit closer to your wishlist.

How would you like to proceed? Or is there more information you'd like to share?
