new to auto cad

Someone sent me a floorpan in auto cad. I need to see the dimensions. Can someone help!?! Thanks in advance.

Hard to tell you what you should do in a drawing we can't see ... any chance you upload the dwg-file?

First at all we even don't know if the sender had created dimensions.

Then we don't know if the dimensions (if there are any) in the modelspace or layouts

It might also be possible the the dimensions are on layers that are frozen, or they are set to be annotative and you just have not set the correct scale to see them (or turn on all using ANNOALLVISIBLE).

You see there are a lot of questions. Maybe you can use Google to search for some words I used above and play with it, or you ask the sender where he created the dimensions or you show us your dwg-file.

Did you mean to attach your floor plan file in your last post? There is no attachment. Please try using a different web browser to attach your file and I can take a look too!

With the MEASURE command you can measure all dimensions by selecting the first and second measure point. 

Another option is to click on a selected line and check the properties for the length.

If you paid for a floor plan i would send it back an request that they give you the dimensions. 

In addition to things mention here, if it was drawn to scale you may have some issues taking measurements or drawing dimensions just be aware that this may affect anything you do to pull a measurement.
