How to import a PDF into ACAD without exploding objects into a million pieces?

I imported a PDF into AutoCAD using options, 'Import as Block' & without, but all objects including text, hatched area explodes into individual pieces, as shown in AutoCAD screenshot. Pls help. Thanks in advance. Denny

The PDF file format does not hold autocad blocks or plines or groups or much else, they are just lines, will always be just be lines.

In AutoCAD you can bring in the entire PDF as a picture or the entire content as a single block: you seem to have just misunderstood what "import as block" meant, that's all.

Hi,

I just tested the setting "Import as Block" and for me that worked, the result was one block ... when using

  • AutoCAD 2018 Update 1.1
  • Command _PDFIMPORT
  • importing from a PDF-File

Can you show your version, workflow and settings?
