Need to move command line

I've been on REVIT too long.

My AutoCAD Command Line is found at the lower-left corner of the Screen, even when I have AutoCAD display as partial screen, the  Command Line is separate from the AutoCAD display at the lower left corner of the Screen.

I set LOCKUT to "0", but I can't select the Command Line, thus I can't move it.

Also, the Command Line lasts only 5 seconds before fading away.

Any help will be appreciated.

This is what the mess looks like:

I can't 'select anything to move.

And the command line fades away after 5 seconds.

Maybe the graphic driver.

You can try this:

@cliffordjohnturner So 2018 is not new software: is it new to you, just get a new computer, or is this some very new and sudden display issue out of the blue?

For the topic you asked about... Start CUI command, select your active workspace, select palettes, then commandline, then choose one of the options presented. Don't forget to click DONE then APPLY then OK out of CUI in that order when finished.

Thank you for your step-by-step instructions. I found it easy to follow, especially with the red highlights. Unfortunately, the command line is still at the lower left of the Screen. It still is outside the AutoCAD display. I've restarted AutoCAD and went through your instructions again with no change.

I am now 74 and want to thank you for taking your time to help.

I started with AutoCAD 9, decades ago, never having had this problem.

Any other ideas out there ?

Can you enter command GRAPHICSCONFIG then do a screen capture and share that here?

Also have you installed:

AutoCAD 2018 Update 2018.1.2 - Autodesk Community - AutoCAD

Since you're running Directx11 and you're on 2018, you can try changing it to use Directx9 to see if that would solve your problem by following these instructions:

It doesn't allow me to select the Command Line, which only has text, no dotted left edge.

Hi,

I think this is not possible, I guess you edited the wrong workspace or you forgot to apply.

Give me a try, okay?

save your current workspace to save your current setup

1. Command: WSSAVE<enter>MCWS<enter>

edit this workspace and use it

2. Command: CUI

Step1 - Select the (current) workspace, what is the MCWS

Step2 - Select 'Commandline' in Palettes node - on the right

Step3 - Set Orientation to Top

    Step4 - Press [APPLY]

In this second, your commandline should move below your menubar.

?
