my unit set up is in inches

now all my drawing are in cm 

and when check the area it shows 

260 cm  *207 cm  shows  53820.0

how can i get the answer in m sqr

Nothing to do with Inch!?

You can not change the units for menus, if you want a Text with "5.382", that possible (create a field with factor 0.0001)

The question now: Where do you want to see 5.382?

It is not possible for 'Propertiepalette' or command LIST or command AREA.

But if you want to display the area in a Text, Mtext or Attribute by a FIELD, that works.
