my cad does not copy drawings from another cad file

my cad does not copy drawings from another cad file, when I try copy a drawing or a block my cad locks and don't paste.

Hi,

 

Attach a screen shot or a screen cast. 

 

May be the blocks or drawing you are trying to copy maybe in a locked layer.

 

To test this

Just open a new drawing > draw any objects.

Ctrl+C (Copy) those objects > open a new drawing > paste it there.

If this works fine then your issues may be different.

How are you copying the drawings/blocks? Are you using the ADCenter or copyclip?

What version of AutoCAD do you have and what paste function are you using?

Copy clip is the one you should use.

"Crtl + C" to copy geometries from one drawing.

"Crtl + V" to paste geometries to another drawing.
