Multiple views in model regen behavior

Good afternoon,

I am working with multiple views in models space.  Currently when I switch from one view to the other, all views regen to match which defeats the purpose.  I have the floor plan xreferenced into my elevation and I'd like one view to show the plan and another to show the elevation, so that I can pull a line from the plan to located and draw the windows in elevation.  I know there is a system variable that I need to set so that all views do not regen to the same thing everytime I switch between them, but I can't find it.  AutoCAD normally runs very quickly on my machine, but this is slowing it down to a crawl.

Maybe the UCSFOLLOW sysvar.  Check help to see what your options are.
