Its not a mtext inside the circle block used in multileader, its an attribute. Changing the text style would not change the text style of the attribute inside the circle block.
When you created the multileader with a block then the circle block will adapt the current text style set for the attribute inside the block and when you again change the text style it would not reflect that to the attribute inside the block and it would remain with the same text style as in your case i.e Arial.
If you would like to change the text style of the attribute inside the circle block then you need to do it manually. Type in the command "BEDIT" and select the block "_TagCircle" and when inside the block editor select the attribute open the properties(ctrl+1) and change the text style to "GP-Romans" and save the block. Now you would see the circle block would have changed the text style🙂
