Multi line Text box

I am editing two drawing files.  In one drawing the text goes down a line like a carriage return like I expect when I press Enter.  In the second drawing the text starts a new line several inches to the right of it.  In both drawings if I start a new multi or single line text the Enter key acts like a carriage return.  I don't understand why the second drawing has the text boxes that behave differently.  Is there a way to change it so the second drawing existing text responds to the Enter like a carriage return?

This little thing is driving me nuts.

Use your cursor and try to pull from the corner of the mtext as shown to the paragraph length. This should solve your problem. See the screenshot of before and after.

while editing ... i suggest to click Columns icon and select No Columns option , any changes ?

please upload both drawings, so we an compare their system variables.

Also let us know which version of AutoCAD you are using (command _ABOUT ==> screenshot would be great).
