Mouse Lags after command or passes over line

I have just made the switch from AutoCAD Architecture 2014 to AutoCAD 2016 and I can not seem to get 2016 to run smoothly.  The cursor lags .5 - 1.5 seconds after every command and also when the cursor passes over any element in the model / layout space, i.e. line, polyline, hatch, viewport etc.  I am able to do work but often miss a selection and miss click due to the lag.  It's very frustrating. 

I have tried adjusting hardware acceleration preferences and just about every variable suggested in previous posts. 

Some things I have tried:

1.) Disable Desktop Composition in Computer Properties

2.) Closing properties pallet

3.) Disable Layers pallet and use layer manager window instead

4.) Disable 360 syncing

I am about to abandon AutoCAD 2016 and simply stick with AutoCAD Architecture 2014.

Make sure 3d object snap is off.
Make sure selection cycling is off
Dock the command line if you have it floating.
Make sure transparency in the palette is not enabled.

Some AV apps can cause this.
Is this a laptop with a biometric scanner?

I had basically previously attempted everything else.  But docking the command line, adjusting the transparency of the pallets and setting DYNMODE to zero seemed to do the trick for me.  Looks like im going to have to get used to looking at my command line as opposed to my cursor for inputs now.

Use autocad 2015 is not the best of lag. The 2016, 2017 is a waste, especially if you are using Windows 10 there is dramatic the problem. Autocad 2017 gave me a lot of frustration is a real ****.

I had the same issue. I tried everything i could find online but nothing worked. Untill i tried to turn of DYNAMIC UCS (F6)

That did the trick, no more lag when having a command active.

I tried all of the suggested fixes above with no resolution.  For me (AutoCAD 2018) the lag was annoying and existed everywhere I moved the mouse and did not matter what I moved over.  It also existed in model and paper space.  I experimented with turning off hardware acceleration and this fixed my issue.  You can also type GRAPHICSCONFIG and turn it off.

Yeah DYNMODE to 0 worked for me too. But Autodesk needs to fix this issue.

Nothing really to "fix". Users can choose to enable these CPU hogging features or to disable them and get back to work.

This fixed it for me .....

Change settings for displaying the command line suggestion list: 

• Type BLOCKMRULIST on the command line in AutoCAD and change to 0.
• Type INPUTSEARCHDELAY on the command line in AutoCAD and change the value to 500.
• Type INPUTSEARCHOPTIONS on the command line to open the Input Search Options dialog box and try one or more of the following:

Turn on "Enable Mid-string Search".
Turn off "Search content at the command line."
Turn off "Search system variables."
Turn off "Enable AutoCorrect."
Turn off "Enable AutoComplete."

Or 

Turn off "Enable Mid-string Search".
Turn off "Search content at the command line."
Turn off "Search system variables."
Turn on "Enable AutoCorrect."
Turn off "Enable AutoComplete."
