Mouse button functions (Logitech MX Revolution)

Hello all,

Who of you has a Logitech MX Revolution mouse that can help me customize the button functions?

I have attached various commands to my buttons via the Logi Options+ program. Commands like ctrl - tab, ctrl - shift - tab, model.

Now I have attached the scroll wheel on the side of the mouse to the commands ctrl - shift - pageup (scroll up) and ctrl - shift - pagedown (scroll down).
These just don't work.

But if I look at other programs where I have also attached functions to this scroll wheel, they will simply be executed.

Is there by any chance a variable (like mbuttonpan for the other scroll wheel) that needs to be changed to also use this scroll wheel?

Thanks in advance for your response

I can provide you with some general information and troubleshooting steps that may help you customize the button functions.

1. Check mouse and software compatibility: Ensure that your Logitech MX Revolution mouse is supported by the Logi Options+ program and that both the mouse firmware and software are up to date.

2. Reconfigure button functions: Open the Logi Options+ program and double-check the button assignments for the side scroll wheel. Make sure you have assigned the correct commands (e.g., ctrl - shift - pageup, ctrl - shift - page down) to the scroll wheel.

3. Test in different applications: Try using the side scroll wheel in various applications to determine if the issue is specific to certain programs. If the scroll wheel works in some applications but not others, it could be a compatibility issue with those specific programs.

4. Check for conflicting settings: Verify that there are no conflicting settings or assignments that could interfere with the side scroll wheel's functionality. Check if any other software or system settings have assigned different functions to the same scroll wheel.

5. Reset mouse settings: If you have made several changes to the mouse settings, consider resetting the mouse to its default settings. This can help eliminate any conflicting configurations that might be causing the issue.

6. Contact Logitech support: If the issue persists, it would be best to reach out to Logitech support directly. They can provide you with specific troubleshooting steps or further assistance based on your mouse model and software version.

Remember, these steps are general recommendations, and the exact steps may vary depending on the Logi Options+ program and your operating system.
