missing .xht in host file but not in original file ?

hi everybody,

I am having issues with the display of special linetypes in an hostfile. When i open the orginal file, the lines are displaying perfectly fine. But when i load it as an Xref the linetypes are not displaying at all in the host file.

I have noted that when i open my hostfile, the missing .hxt file dialog box is opening. My guess would be that i am missing the .hxt files to display the linetypes in the host file. But on the other hand, i can display the linetypes well in the original file, that would mean that those .hxt files are already there in my computer, but i could not find them. is there a way to load .hxt files in my host file ? If needed, i could ask the .hxt files to the ingineers that sent me the original file.

My other lead would be that the .hxt files are not related to my problem, and that the units would be. because the units in the original file qre in feets and the units in the host file are in meters

Thank you for your help

Charles

Hi,

welcome @forums.autodesk.com!

>> when i open my hostfile, the missing .hxt file dialog box is opening

Can you show a screenshot of that message?
Can you upload that file(s)?

...because I have not heard about a "hxt" file in context with AutoCAD.

>> am having issues with the display of special linetypes

First at all: issues in modelspace or issues in layout(s)/viewport(s) or both?

Try playing with the sysvars

PSLTSCALE, MSLTSCALE and LTSCALE (compare the LTSCALE setting in the referenced and in the "host"-file.

You are right alfred. The file was .shx !

Maybe this was not the propper way, but i managed to resolve my problem by changing the linetypescales in the "x reffed" file to a really high value, they now display well in the host file (model space and layout viewport)

Thank you,

Charles.
