It's in SHOW TABS, not SHOW PANELS in that right-click menu, and you have it on.

There is no VIEW panel in the HOME tab unless you make one.

The view option in the show tabs isn't in regards to that same view panel.
When you right click, under show tabs,
then when you select view,
that view refers to the top left of the screen. When you select and deselect it, it disappears and reappears.

Any other suggestions ?

Got it: you are actually looking for the Viewbase command/panel, correct?
https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2016/ENU/AutoC...

It's there in R2018, you might have to reset your installation like this https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to...

That's correct. It's the viewbase command / panel that I'm looking for. I reset the program to default settings and it didn't show up.
I also deleted autocad 2018,
Cleared the registry
Reinstalled it and the view panel isn't there. Even if I type viewbase, the system says "unknown command"

What other options do I have.

Change to a 3D workspace instead of the 2D drafting default: does it appear there?
Under the CUI command, that panel is listed by default under HOME 3D - VIEW

Or just type it at the commandline: VIEWBASE is the commandname.

Hi, I have tried typing "viewbase" in the command , the system tells me "unknown command"

I have also tried switching to 3D basic and I'm not seeing the command. However, when I switch to 3D modelling, I'm seeing a view panel when I right click and highlight show panels but it isn't the viewbase view I'm looking for. It's a different type of view panel in 3D modelling.

Also I'm a little confused about the CUI command. I'm not seeing the 3D home there.

If you need any screenshots , let me know. I have un-installed autocad 2018 again, cleared the registry, restarted, reinstalled and still no viewbase option.

Thanks for the help by the way. I really appreciate it.
