Missing Open File Tabs

Hi Folks,

Something has happened with my PC and my ACAD screen setup has changed, I no longer see the toolbars on the left side of the screen, actually, I no longer see toolbars at all, and the tabs along the top, under the ribbon that show which drawing files I currently have open are gone.  Also, the ribbon only shows tabs as titles, no buttons.

How do I get my workspace back?  (I tried switching between workspaces, but that didn't have any effect.

I don't want to think that someone has purposely tampered with my PC, but my office light was also on this morning when I arrived.  I'm more concerned with getting my ACAD setup back.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

MarkF

2 tips to avoid it happening again.

1st Keep "Save Workspace Settings" turned off so if they accidentally get changed they won't get changed when switching Workspaces. So switching to another Workspace then back again will usually restore them.

2nd When you have your Workspace set how you want it save it as a backup Workspace with a different name.

@MarkFitz can you provide a screenshot of what you are seeing?  sometimes just providing a picture can help generate an answer a whole lot faster than trying to describe your issue.

Here are the before and after (ignore the text in the before pic, that was from a previous question, I just happened to have and old screen shot of this)

ACAD Setup is the after

ACAD Workspace is the before, i.e. what I would like to get back to.

This is a toolbar: simply reverse the process that you followed to get rid of it?? Do you need help finding that previous post of yours?

To turn a toolbar on, you simply restore the WORKSPACE you saved previously when you set it up. Don't know how to do that? Try this

Forgot to do that? You can follow this instructional guide from Autodesk

https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/how-to-turn-toolba...

And don't forget to...

I went through the different saved workspaces I have on Friday, and didn't see what I was looking for.  I just ran through them again and found something that is just about what I had, so I'm sticking with that.

Thanks to everyone for all your help and suggestions.  Now that I have this back, I'm a little curious to know how it happened, I mean, I'm not important enough to warrant professional sabotage, I am but a humble drafter...   I got my workspace back, I'm satisfied with that.

Thanks again, guys!

It is very easy to accidently click off on something.  One thing I would recommend is setting LOCKUI to a value of 15.  Then you have to hold ctrl while clicking to drag something.  It doesnt help with the ribbon though, you would still have to click back through to cycle the various options.  I cant say that I have ever accidently minimized my ribbon, but I dont have MENUBAR turned on, so I have no business clicking that far to the right.
