If by "rotates" you mean it makes it come out backwards, it's the MIRRTEXT System Variable that is set to 1 -- you want to set it to 0 [read about it in Help].

Hi @Anonymous,

I have not seen this before. Does it matter what type of font is used in the style? Is it possible to attach a sample file that displays this behavior?

Is this perhaps related to your current UCS at the time when you mirror?

Hi,

Does this problem occur in all your drawings or only in a particular drawing. Which version of Autocad are you using?

Have you tried Audit, Purge. Close & restart autocad and check whether the problem is still existing.

Check this thread with similar issue (no solution found)

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-forum/mirrored-text-rotated-180-degrees/td-p/1273907

Please upload a sample file to find a feasible solution.

Cheers,

Is the text annotative and is it possibly in a block or some other insert?

is this a block within a block?
Otherwise it's time you posted a DWG file with the problem, let's all touch what you are touching in that file.

Yes I think it is related to UCS if it is world UCS it works right, but if the UCS is not world , it rotates the text when I mirror it.

Hi @Anonymous,

Is it possible to attach a sample file that shows this behavior?

Does the mirror work correctly if your current UCS matches the object when you do the mirror?

text inside a block, when mirrored the text is incorrect, no readable. Mirrtext not working, it works with attdef text, but when that attdef text gets added to inside the block it disappears.

Correct, TEXT in blocks has worked like that in this program is by design. Now you know to never use just TEXT in blocks if you wish to have the ability to mirror a block with letters/words in it.

If I draw simple lines to create a wall, a simple line to represent a wood header over an opening. To group this as a block to be copy /pasted/ mirrored at multiple locations. That is the end game.

But to that I need text along with the wood header.

regular text with the mirrored block does not work, not readable.

If I create ATTDEF (which mirror text works with) and that one text line I add objects to the block the text then disappears.

To bypass this  I place the ATTDEF text to each window opening location, then I select all ATTDEF plus wall lines, wood header lines and all at once create the unit block , that works. But if any future edits need to be made , example moving text a little, or updated text entry , or copy pasting to a new window, once you click save changes it does not reflect new updates, new items disappear. But when you click edit block the items reappear.

I just don't get it, years ago this all worked just fine with other versions.

This issue here destroys our production output and processes.

@JoshuamRivera I have no idea what you might have used or done years ago, so I cannot help you decipher what's different today. Sorry.

For your current issue, you'll probably need to share a DWG file with the edit-now-stops-working problem for others to examine.

Looks like you are ready to jump into creating and using Flip parameters in Dynamic (not regular) Blocks. Perhaps that is what you all used to do and those got lost somewhere along the way.

There is a dedicated forum on the topic, here is the link https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/dynamic-blocks-forum/bd-p/154
Repost there and combine your last to replies here into one, don't forget to add your DWG file.

And lots of online tutorials if you wish to dive in deeper
