Migrating custom menu, side libraries, and tool bar from 2004 to 2017

We have various custom menu bars, "side libraries" and toolbars (examples attached) which were configured by a previous employee within Autocad 2004.  The company has purchased and installed Autocad 2017.  From various sites we were able to discover a "migration path" for user customizations from newer versions of Autocad but cannot locate any guides on how to migrate customizations from 2004 to 2017.

Is there any good resources available which include step-by-step instructions or perhaps one-time fee based technical support options available to complete this?

Thank you,

Scott

HI @Anonymous,

Welcome to the Autodesk Community.

I would discourage just migrating things from such an old version into a new version. Doing so might actually break them or your installation. I suggest that you analyze how your new software works, explore the new features, and then decide how to move your old procedures into the new configuration. You might find that simple palette libraries and Design Center folders are a better and faster way than your previous one.

At any rate, if you have specific questions you are in the right place as the community is full of helpful and knowledgeable experts that are here to help you out.

I would also suggest some training for your staff on the new version.

Thank you for the follow up. Just discovered we are using "LT." We are going to try and schedule a support session. But I am positive there will be issues along the way. Appreciate the assistance from pendean as well too.

Hi @Anonymous,

You might post in the AUGI forums to see if there is someone near you that can help out. Typically going through such a large difference in versions can involve quite a bit of work.  It would be good to have some assistance if you have never done this before.
