METADATA GROUND SURFACE UTM coordinates DATABASE BIM in Civil Engineering

Can AUTOCAD add metadata to elements. I mean to customise metadata fields to be filled by user after. I already know REVIT and CIVIL-3D but REVIT is not reliable when dealing with UTM coordinates and ground surfaces and CIVIL-3D cannot also add metadata well. Actually CIVIL-3D only works properly if there is not underground excavations. AECOsim from BENTLEY  is able to do all of this, but I think it would be great if AUTOCAD or another AUTODESK software would do. This is why I am asking you.

I see that you are visiting as a new member. Welcome to the Autodesk Community! 

I am afraid that I would need to see an example of what you are trying to attach to objects. You can currently add attributes, extended entity data, hyperlinks, etc. in AutoCAD. Are you looking for something different?

Hi John,

I need to have elements with geometric and BIM metadata such as material, fireprotection, demolition date..... Furthermore I need to automatically gather those data on different reports and bill of quantities. As far as I know only AUTOCAD 3D MAP has certain non-customised metadata but  later AUTOCAD versions do not have that capability.

I think my comment should be on AUTOCAD forum rather than on AUTOCAD MAP 3D because AUTOCAD MAP 3D cannot add customised metadata and it is clear my comment is trying to do this by AUTOCAD.

I do not agree with this change.
