Major delay when editing MText and other commands

Hi All,

Today has been a very painful day.

I upgraded SpaceGass. As part of that process, I upgraded my graphics card driver, as recommended. Now I can't be sure, but it seems that this has somehow stuffed up AutoCAD. When I try to edit MText, it has a delay of about 12-15 seconds. This happens every time, even if trying to edit the same piece of MText twice in a row. Editing Text has no delay. I also get the delay if editing Dimension Text. Other things also seem slow, like switching between drawings, Ctrl+C. I don't believe it is anything in the drawing, as it happens in all drawings, and colleagues have no problems.

When I go into Options, System, Graphics Performance, it shows the NVIDIA card is being used.

When I go to the NVIDIA Control Panel, Program Settings, Select AutoCAD, it shows that NVIDIA is selected, and cannot be changed as the drop down is greyed out.

I tried going into Windows Graphics Settings, adding AutCAD and selecting High Performance.

I tried a Ronny Rollback via the NVIDIA website, but this didn't solve the problem.

I've uninstalled SpaceGass, no luck.

So currently, I have no SG and the same driver version that was working fine last week. I'm really stuck here, and desperately hoping someone can help out.

Windows 10 64-bit

NVIDIA GeForce MX110

Driver Version 512.59

Driver Type DCH

SpaceGass probably did more than just uninstalling it will fix. Did you ask tat vendor about it all?

I suspect a full removal/reinstall of Autodesk software may be warranted: but before you go that far, log into your PC as an all new user with full admin rights and test, see if that slowness goes away.

Hi Valentin-WSP and Pendean,

Thanks for trying to help, I really appreciate the time people put into these fora. Unfortunately none of the suggestions worked for me. Instead, I opened 2022 instead of 2021, and everything is working fine. If I open 2021 it's still stuffed. Now to reinstall The Gass and hope that 2022 still works.

If you haven't already re-installed SpaceGass, make a system image (not a restore point, but a system image) of your current configuration.  That way, if it does muck up 2022, you can restore from the system image and be back to where you were, where you have at least one working version of AutoCAD.  Then you wait for SpaceGass to issue a fix.
