lost user profile, LT2009 rebuilding questions.

Our network guy wiped my user profile off the server and had to start fresh. Ugh....If he was here I'd throttle him

Apparently I have to rebuild LT2009 myself. First I had to figure out where/how to establish a profile, then I had to copy acadlt.cui off the installation disk into the support (I think) folder....so now at least it's looking like what I had last Friday....

But....every time I open a file, it's asking me to select "ltypeshp.shx", and opens to the support folder where the file is located.

And if I want to add a linetype, the box is blank and no linetyle file is shown.

I have thousands of files and if I have to do this every time I open a file I will jump off a bridge!

Is there some way to globally establish these things? I used to be pretty good with configuring these things five or six years ago, but time has faded those skills.

Thanks

Ted

Hi,

>> Apparently I have to rebuild LT2009 myself.

Wondering that AutoCAD did not create the profile with defaults, because when a new user is logged in (and I guess when the admin wiped your profile that you have a new one) AutoCAD should do that automatically.

Look to >>>that article<<<, this describes how to manually reset your profile so AutoCAD will run the same sequence as it would do for a new user ... and your AutoCAD profile should be created from scratch (and working).

Good luck, - alfred -

Alfred, that was it...fairly painless to boot.

All I had to do was change a couple colors afterwrds and my default file location and I am back in biz.

Thanks a ton.
