Good Morning Colleagues
I hope you are doing safe and good . I am new to Autocad and i need your help to understand Autocad drawing and get from it the required information for my Job.
I have attached 3 Autocad drawings.
I have been able to extract the following data successfully from (E2204-TD-DWG-ER-00-621) :
- Number of Fiber Optics Patch Panels for Racks SSN.
- Number of Cat6 Patch Panels for Racks SSN.
- Number of POE Switches for Racks SSN.
- Core Switch for Rack SSN.
- SSN Racks.
My issue that i got confirmation that there is 101 network outlets (Data & Telephone) which i cannot locate at"E2204-TD-DWG-ER-00-621" or at the other two drawings . What i can find clearly in the drawing "E2204-TD-DWG-ER-00-621" is IP Cameras in addition to network outlets/points to control room.
So appreciate if you can help me locate the 101 network outlets (Data & Telephone) .
Thx in advance.
Best Regards

If the content you are looking for are blocks with unique names, you can find them yourself using QSELECT or FILTER commands. If that content is not blocks, or you cannot find it browsing manually in that not-so-huge line / text drawings, then it is likely not there and there is no magic to finding it.
But the files you posted contain so many blocks from C3D and MagiCAD with so many similar names I've not waded through it myself, you'll have to do that.

Any Cat6 wire that ends up in your cable trunking will have an outlet located somewhere close to where the connected equipement will be. They don't run a Cat6 from from the Rack straight into the Equipement. It's bad practice to do so. Your setup will look similar to this...
Your plan #621 is what is called a Single Line Diagram or a OneLine Diagram. This type of Single Line diagram is for a general overview of the netwrok itself, not the exact location of every outlet. The exact location of every outlet will be specified on another drawing such as a Comms / Architectural drawing.
When you add up all these Cat6 conections i get 99 outlets. Very close the your 101.

@pendean This has nothing to do with blocks.
Thanks for the info: so it appears #2 post was correct https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-forum/locate-network-outlets-in-autocad-drawings/m-p/11519496...

- What i understand from you that another drawing such as a Comms / Architectural drawing is required to get the exact location of every outlet. Is that true ? Yes, the exact location of every Comms outlet will be on another plan. Same goes for all the electrical details.... There are specific plans for that which you don't have!
- Does the drawing "E2204-TD-DWG-ER-00-621" has all required information to calculate the cable length from the rack to the outlet ? No, you cannot calculate any cable lengths, nor can you plan which way your trunking will go to complete the job. Only thing you can do with this plans is order the right amount of PTZ cameras basically. Plan 621 is an overview of the network. You need the detailed Arhcitectural plans showing you where to locate each outlet. From there, you can plan your cable runs back to the racks, cable lenghts, cable trays, lenght of conduits etc... You cannot quote a job with plan #621.
You are gonna need someting like this :
