linework is too dark

I recently had to reinstall Autocad 2010 and not the linework is too dark.  I'm sure there is a setting to correct that, but I cannot find it and the help is totally useless.  Can someone help?

Please explain what you mean by the "linework". Do you mean the color that your drawing entites have?

If you mean the printed output (PDF or paper), then are you sure you're using the same plot style (CTB/STB)?

I use a dark screen and color bylayer.  All of the likework on the screen regardless of layer or color is subdued to where they are almost the same color as the background.  It looks a lot like when I used to do an isolate lare command, except all layers are affected.

Is this linework in an XREF? If so, change XDWGFADECTL.

Are the layers locked? Check LAYLOCKFADECTL

Try *fade* at the command line for these and others.

Thank you.  XDWGFADECTL set to 0 fixed it.

Hi, I have the same issue where the lone colors almost blend in with the background in model space. I tried your commands but nothing happened.
