Linetype in drawing doesn't show up in .lin file

I have linetypes in my template drawing that aren't listed in any of the .lin files that are saved in my default working folder file path. I want to edit the linetypes, but how can edit them if they don't show up in any of my .lin files? If I could delete them, I would just replace them with new ones, but I also can't delete them.

Hi,

you need to export the linetype definition from the dwg into a lin file.

Therefor you'll need a tool like >>>this<<<

Thank you Alfred. Do you know of a way to force a delete of a linetype definition? We have dozens in our template that never get used, undefined shapes, etc., but they won't delete.

Alfred, I loaded and executed the LINOUT command and returns the error "bad argument type: stringp nil". I assume it's not compatible with Civil3D2025. Is that the issue?

@dslocum Let's ask that custom tool developer/coder @vladimir_michl about your issue with their LINOUT tool, can you provide a DWG with that one linetype in it?

Hi, it should be compatible with all AutoCAD flavors 2016+. But maybe not with DGN-imported special linetypes. Can you please send me the DWG (at least a portion of it) showing this error? PM or e-mail - vladimir.michl @ arkance.world

The linetype "V-WETL" points to non-existing shape (SHX) definition. The app will be updated to handle such special case but in any case this linetype is corrupted.
