Line does not appear while drawing

hello,

When I use the UCS command and try to draw a line, it does not appear. I only see the line when I enter two points. Generally when the first point is inserted the line is already visible, but when I activate the command the UCS line is no longer visible at the time of its execution.

Any chance you could upload a screencast of what you are doing?

Don't see your video but are you drawing on a layer that is turned on?

Hi,

in the video you do have ORTHO on, does the same happen (line-dragging invisible) when you have ORTHO turned off?

Michellehackett Yes, the layer is active.

Alfred.NESWADBA By turning the Ortho command on or off, the problem still persists.

Hi,

which version of AutoCAD do you have? And do you have the latest service pack installed?

Can we have this drawing so we can test with your data? BTW: when you create a new drawing (based on an original AutoCAD template), does that happen again?

Hi,

tried now with AutoCAD 2016 and 2017, can't reproduce the issue.

This brings me back to my previous questions ...

  • which version of AutoCAD do you have?
  • do you have the latest service pack installed?
  • when you create a new drawing (based on an original AutoCAD template), does that happen again?

1- Autocad 2015
2- Yes my Autocad is newly installed.
3-When I create a new drawing sometimes this problem appears.

** I'm sorry, I'm learning English and sometimes Google Translate produces confusing results for me.

I tried your suggestion, but it did not work. SNAPMODE and GRIDMODE are already disabled.

Hi,

Ok, AutoCAD 2015 works well for me with your drawing too.

>> Yes my Autocad is newly installed

Well, install the latest service packs from >>>here<<<.

Also start command _GRAPHICSCONFIG, turn off hardware acceleration as well as "Smooth line display", does it work then?

I re-installed the software, the problem is gone.
I could not download the pack.

I believe that reinstallation would be the only solution, although I did not want to do it.

Problem solved. Thank you for your cooperation.

Also check your Limits. If you don't need Limits turn them off.

[That was already suggested, in Message 11.  But in any case, the OP may not still be watching -- their last post in this topic, 3-1/2 years ago, was in fact their last post (to date).]

Although this topic was solved, I just want to contribute another solution - I had the same issue in a file I received.
Im my case, the polyline width was set to 0.02 and that caused the lines not to be visible until I confirmed each line and not while drawing.

Just started a new polyline, changed the start/end width to 0 and all back to normal
