Hi,

1. Did you check SETBYLAYERMODE <255> or Restart AutoCAD

2. Check Dimension Style Manager, all are by layer ( see the attachments)

3. Check CAD file settings of Dimension Style Manager & Leader style in properties.

Thanks Jayhar for replying,

Actually in XREF drawing all dimension and leader are not on bylayer, so when I try to use command SETBYLAYER all other layer and blocks are turn to bylayer but leader and dimension are not. SETBYLAYERMODE is on 255.
For example please see the attached image , in this case how can I change leader and dimension to set bylayer through a single command, when there is a large number of leader and dimension in the drawing.
Best Regards

Enter new value for DIMCLRT <0>

Assigns colors to dimension lines, arrowheads, and dimension leader lines.

Also controls the color of leader lines created with the LEADER command. Color numbers are displayed in the Select Color dialog box. For BYBLOCK, enter 0. For BYLAYER, enter 256.

I don't understand what you saying, DIMCLRT was 0 and changed to value 10 , then I try SETBYLAYER command but nothing changed, CAn you tell me step by step.
AI told you I want to change color of existing Dimension and leader which are not in bylayer in properties by using a single command. so I can work faster. Any option for that.?

You spent way more time than it would have taken to just open the XREF and fix the color overrides in place for those objects... .

AFAIK that command does not work on XREFs, just blocks.

<<<<<DIMCLRT was 0 and changed to value 10>>>>> sorry my mistake not DIMCLRT its DIMCLRD to set <0>

<<<<<<then I try SETBYLAYER command but nothing changed>>>>>> ok . Did you check SETBYLAYERMODE <255>

<<<<<<I want to change color of existing Dimension>>>>>> in Dimension Style Manager can set all by layer, see previous attachments (attach 1). if you need different color select from properties. (attach 2)

<<<<Dimension and leader which are not in bylayer in properties>>>>> CANNOT SET BY LAYER  on properties, it can only on Dimension Style to set by layer.

check my thread cad file attachment. see dimension style settings all are by layer.

Hello,

Is these commands work on 2016 LT version?

After I used SETBYLAYER commands, my dimensions do not change. It is inside a block.

Here is the attached.

Thanks in advancedDimensions Colour.png

P.S. I tried the commands but it does work. Is there a way for LT.

@SianSiam Did you read the line in the post right above yours that stated...

<<<<Dimension and leader which are not in bylayer in properties>>>>> CANNOT SET BY LAYER on properties, it can only on Dimension Style to set by layer.

Check your settings for your dimensions first.
