In Options you can toggle off display of Layout and Model tabs, and then buttons are supposed to show in the status bar.  I toggle the tabs off but nothing appears in the status bar, 2018 or 2019.  Does this actually work and if so how to get it to show?

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Rob - that button is not the same as the layout tabs.  Picking PAPER on the status bar will put you into a viewport and not toggle you to a Layout.  If that is what help is talking about then they need to update their help file because those are two separate functions.

You are correct. I should have tested before posting.

I found an image of what should show up but cannot figure out how to turn them on.

Rob - Yes that is it, I think I have seen that before, I wonder if it is a bug or there is another sysvar to toggle that?

It might be that it's a feature that is no longer available. Maybe it happened when the status bar and the quick access bar were merged.

If you hover over the area in Options it still describes the buttons appearing, see image.

Yeah, I saw that. If my theory is correct, that would be an oversite on Autodesk's part, not editing the tool tip.
