Layers wont change the properties of a line

I am having issues with assigning a line to a certain layer. When I go to change it from the layer menu, nothing changes. The line stays white with no assigned layer. The only way I can change the layers now is by opening up properties and changing them manually from there. The only connection that may have caused this is I had a computer guy come last week to fix my graphics card. I got the newest version installed of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060. This started happening around the same time. I can't remember if it was before or after. I believe it was before though.

What do you mean with "layer menu" ?

LAYERproperties manager?

You can not change objects by using this palette.

Toolbar combi item?

Check your PICKFIRST setting

Or by a ribbon combi item?

Check your PROPOBJLIMIT

Try setting PICKFIRST to 1
