Layers disappearing from layer dropdow list

Hi

I have an issue with AutoCAD 2018 - whenever I click the Layer dropdown menu and turn off / freeze / lock a layer in any of my drawings, the layer chosen disappears from the dropdown list, and has to be turned back on through the Layer Properties window.

In the "Filters" part of Layer Properties, it is set to "All". I don't have any custom layer filters, and "Invert filter" is disabled.

This happens in all of my drawings.

This setting should be OFF in any case.

I tried opening the Layer Setting window, but ended up in Layer States Manager instead. Tried enabling "Don't list layer states in Xrefs" which helped. Turns out my Acad have a hard time handling 1450 layers 😕

In this case change the variable MAXSORT = 1500

How about to go the other way around... make "All but Xref Layers" filter active and the above-mentioned option too... It might be easier to handle fewer layers...
