Layer Properties Manager displays all line weights as default

Greetings, I am not sure if anyone has encountered this problem before. I have old drawings from my office with line weights that were set to the old pen plotters. I am trying to bring over all of the layer properties from 2014 auto cad to 2017 auto cad. I able to bring over all the properties, but the line wights all of which have been switched to default line weight. I still have all the original templates and drawings but I can get the lightweight numbers for the layers what am I doing wrong?

From 2014 to 2017 you have to do nothing, so what are you doing and why?

If the lineweight is set to 0.09 in 2014 it still 0.09 in 2017.

I thought that as well but for some reason, it changed all line weights to default when I brought over the templates

Please share the "old" file with lineweights /= default and the new file with all lineweights=default.

And if possible a screenshot where you show the lineweights  (do you have 2014 still running and can see the lineweight there?)

In the old days, drawings were set-up to use a .ctb to assign lineweights and this has been the standard for a lot of places for many years. check the plot dialog to see if a .ctb has been assigned to these files. That is most likely where the lineweight settings are stored.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Are you sure they were still there in that file in the first place? LWEIGHT settings are saved inside each DWG file and they don't just disappear on their own.

Or... were line weights assigned with a plot style table?
