Layer Not Showing Up

I am trying to get a layer to show up on one of my drawings. When I upload the xref base to one drawing it doesn't appear, but in others it shows (for context I am trying to get building numbers onto the site). The layer isn't frozen in the layer manager, and the annotative scale is correct. What is the issue?

Is it VPFrozen in a particular Viewport?

It's not. I triple checked. The layer simply doesn't appear.

But it shows in the list in the Layer Manager?

Your DWG file with the problem shared here would be a quick way to find out what is going on.

Try thawing all layers to see what layer the xref was inserted on.

As a rule I generally add specific layers for each reference image and drawing so I can control how they're displayed in different viewports.

  • Drawing Corruption, In rare cases, drawing corruption can lead to display issues. You can try opening a new drawing and then attaching the Xref to see if it displays correctly.
  • Turnoff GRAPHICSCONFIG
  • Copy and Paste to a New Drawing
  • If you have any third-party add-ons or applications installed in AutoCAD, try disabling them temporarily to see if they are causing the issue. Sometimes, these add-ons can conflict with AutoCAD's functionality.
