Hello, after I using SolidWorks to save a drawing (drw) as AutoCAD dwg, the drawing not fitting in the center on paper space.

I have two sheets on drw. The save as setting as below:

Bom and balloons are missing.

If I change save as setting as below:

Got dwg as below:

You can see, the drawing is not fitting in the center.

Appreciate if you can help me to fix this issue!

Looks like you just need to adjust the page setup settings in AutoCAD. Can you post the dwg?

Hi,

can you make sure your have selected "What to plot = Layout"? Then you can adjust the plot offset.

Alternative (not preferred) is to use "What to plot = Extents" and activate "Center the plot".

If this does not help then please send us the drawing, it's easier then to look into all the plot-details.

Alfred, thanks for your responding. Yes, I can checked "Center the plot" on Page Setup-Sheet 1 to make drawing in the center of sheet. But if there are tones of drw need to be saved as dwg, I don't think this is a right way to fix every single dwg after saving. Is there any way to set default template which has "Center the Plot" on page setup? So we can save a drw as dwg which should has a centralized drawing automatically on sheet view.

I made a test model and drw in SW, then saved as dwg. See attachment please.

Hi,

I don't know Solidworks, maybe there you have an option to define a DWG with predefined layout settings that should be used when you files are exported as DWG.

If you only need to plot these files and you know that all your layouts are 17"x11" then you can

  • first create a pagesetup for 17"x11" with the settings you need to get the output fitting to the paperformat (>>>details<<<)
  • then use command _PUBLISH (to plot multiple layouts and multiple files in one step) where you can then assign the previously defined pagesetup.

But sorry to say, without a tool you can't assign pagesetup changes to multiple files/multiple layouts automatically.
