Issue changing property values

Good evening,

I have started learning autocad as part of a distance-learning university course and I'm having an issue that I cannot solve or find any information about online, it would be great if anyone could offer any ideas.

When I need to change a value of a property by entering text, eg 'text height', the border of the box blinks and when I try to overwrite the default value it simply reverts back to default immediately. The same happens when I try to change a layer name. I click to highlight the default name and it immediately cancels the action, so I unable to change the text. In addition, when I hover over any menu item, the pop up box disappears instantly.

I'm confident that it's not a user error, but I'm really struggling to get anywhere with tutorials because I am unable to perform simple tasks. Any help with this would be much appreciated.  I'm on Mac, and have tried the usual rebooting etc.

Simon.

1. Update AutoCAD to the latest version.
2. Ensure your Mac meets the system requirements.
3. Reset AutoCAD settings.
4. Check for third-party software conflicts.
5. Verify your keyboard input method.
6. Look for Mac-specific issues on Autodesk's website.
7. Contact Autodesk support if needed.
8. Test AutoCAD on another computer.
9. Reinstall AutoCAD as a last resort.

Hi @sjwhelan

Are you running AutoCAD?

Or are you using an AutoCAD viewer?

Hi,

I confirm that I am running the latest version of AutoCAD (not viewer) and the latest version of MacOS, with no additional text correction or keyboard input software. I have reset the AutoCAD settings.

Since I installed the latest AutoCAD update, any new file I create behaves as expected, without issues. The old drawing files still have the problem. I have just accepted this now and redone my old drawings as means of practice.

For reference, here is a screen grab of the issue: https://youtu.be/_vz8JBB-tXE

Thanks.
