Issue Adding Fonts to AutoCAD

Hi All,

I have an issue adding a new font onto AutoCAD. I have done the process with multiple devices before and it has worked out all fine.

The font is a company logo for use on layouts and it has two text types - bold and regular. One of them is installed and shows up the other one is not working.

This time around we have tried everything that has been suggested in local forums - going through options/directories and matching the directories to other PCs that have the font working. Also per usual restarted both the PC and AutoCAD too, uninstalled the fonts from windows redownloaded and installed again, and as a last resort completely uninstalled AutoCAD and made a brand new install - but still nothing...

Would be great, if anyone might have any ideas or suggestions of how to go about solving this issue! 🙂

Instead of requiring two questionable fonts to display a company logo on every drawing which would be an issue for everyone who tried to open or print it I'd recommend creating it with a transparent PNG imbedded into your title blocks that would make all your drawing easier to work with.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for the information, although on all other PCs it has worked and we do not require to send DWG files for viewing and printing outside the office so we do all that in house. So we do not require it to be accessible to everyone.

Would be great if we could make it work for our workflow in the office. If you have any other ideas of how to make it work?

I know that there might be some connection with the file type - TTF instead of OpenType, so maybe a postscript readability issue?

Thanks again.

Read this, we end users cannot change this reality and that workaround they list has issues https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Font-available-in-...
