Is there a system variable for scaling a line with specific units in AutoCAD?

I want to draw a 2 m line by typing 1m in command line. Is there any sysvar for scaling line only

Sorry, there is no variable such as that. May I know why you are trying to scale the length of the line being drawn? If you want to draw a line at half the length then you can divide the length by 2 when you input the distance. For example, if you want to draw a line that is half the distance of say 25 then, you can type in the command "LINE" and then select the start point and input the distance as "25/2". Now the length of the line will be 12.5 🙂

I'm practicing a floor plan in metres, I want everything in metres and true
to scale. How can I draw directly in metres in autocad?? Is anything drawn
in decimal is unitless. Any ideas, please suggest.

Hi @Anonymous 

The thing to know is that AutoCAD is unitless. Meaning if you draw a line of length 10, it can 10m or 10mm or even 10cm as well. To drawn in meters just change the insertion scale in "UNITS" to meters 🙂

Should you want to draw in metres, correct starting point would be to start with a metric template and NOT an imperial template.

Just like @vinodkl has said, the drawing units are to whatever the default template is at, but can be changed, as mentioned in the post

To draw in meters, start DWGUNITS command, follow the prompts to set to meter and accept all the default answers to the other questions, then draw.
