I was trying to find a way to use a KMZ file from Google Earth in my AutoCAD 2014 software. I haven't had any luck so far, and was curious if my software is just too old? Thanks.
If your drawing geometry is on a known coordinate system (such as a state plane), DotSoft's GeoLocationPlus will enable you to import and merge content from KMZ files. Warning: If you used AutoCADs GEOLOCATION command, picked a location and did the drop pointer approach, your geometry may not be on the known system and you cannot merge data properly!
Sorry, AutoCAD doesn't have the capability. You can do it with Map 3D. The MAPIMPORT command can read kml and kmz files.
