Hello,
Is it possible to install AutoCAD Map 3D 2016 (Spanish) 64 bits on Windows 7 Home Premium?
When I try to install the spanish version, the checkbox for Map is disabled in the setup window and shows a message about requirements.
The installation of the english version on the other hand goes without any problem.
Thanks in advance.
Best regards, Jack.

Hi @Anonymous
Welcome to AutoCAD Answer Day!
Have you considered installing Map 3D 2016 via the English download but then installing the Spanish Language Pack on top? Not sure if they are available yet but this is one optiuon you could look at.
What is the message you get about requirements? Could you share some screenshots of this please.
Hi Jack,
Actually, Map 3D 2016 is not supported on Windows 7 Home OS.
The supported OS are
Windows® 7 Ultimate
Windows 7 Enterprise
Windows 7 Professional
Windows 8/8.1
Windows 8/8.1 Professional
Windows 8/8.1 Enterprise
That said, it may install... but has not be tested.
If the english version do install, I suspect the spanish version should as well (a screen capture of the error would help).
Also Make sure you collapse the options under the Map section during the installation to un-grey the install button...sometime, this is overlooked and you can't click on install...
Cheers, Nicolas
Hello
Just a stupid question : you have how much memory in Gb ?

PS: excellent answer Nicolas, I have forgotten this small detail !!

Thank you Duncan for your reply. As far as I know, language packs are available for plain AutoCAD, but not for AutoCAD Map.
Best regards, Jack.
Thank you Nicolas. Find attached a screen capture. English version installs fine.
In the spanish setup the checkbox for installing Map is disabled.
Best regards, Jack.
Hi Jack,
Thanks for the sceencapture.
Just to confirm...
1) you are attempting to install Map2016 Spanish on Win 7 Home ENGLISH (can you confirm what is the OS language?).
2) On the same machine, Map 2016 English installed fine.
3) Is Map 2016 English still installed on that same machine ? Are you attempting to install side by side 2 different Map 2016 (one english and one spanish) ?
Thanks for the details 🙂
Cheers, Nicolas
Thank you Nicolas.
1) My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium. I´m not sure whether it is spanish or english. Interface is spanish.
2) Previously I installed the english version, but then uninstalled before trying the spanish version. No side by side installation.
3) On another clean laptop (also Windows 7 Home Premium), same issue.
Greetings, Jack.
The Message you are getting is because the OS you are using is not one of the supported OS types that the installer is looking for.
Now you can modify the setup.ini to take out the OS check portion of the installer and just plow on through but even if you can get it to install correctly you may encounter problems further down the road to do this at your own risk.
First, navigate to your downloaded installer folder (usually in c:\autodesk.) find the setup.ini file and make a backup of it.
Second. Open that setup.ini files using notepad. locate the section below and delete it
#============================= Custom Callback Function =============================
CB_FUNC=CustomPlatformCheck
CB_SOURCE=Setup\AcSetup.dll
CB_PARAM=5.2-x64;5.1-x86;http://www.autodesk.com/autocad-win-sys-reqs-2016-
CB_DESCRIPTION=Custom callback function to check platform support.
Third, locate the following section and delete it

Finally save the changes and try the installer again. NOTE: this would be an untested and unsupported solution. The official answer is upgrade your OS to a supported version for AutoCAD MAP 2016
hello Jack
another possbile reason is the content service. make sure you have installed content service before you install it.
so, you should install Autodesk Content Service from "Install Tools & Utilities" section first and then restart installation of Autodesk Map 3D.
hope it helps.
Problem solved.
In fact, the problem occurs only with the setup of the trial version of AutoCAD Map 3D 2016 (spanish).
I`ve now downloaded the complete installation via my ADN account and this one installs without any problems, also on Windows 7 Home Premium.
The setup for the trial version is slightly different and seems to have a real issue with the spanish version.
Just to comment that the trial setup also fails on Windows 8.1 which is a supported OS.
Thanks for your help.
Best regards, Jack Melgers.
