Insert line parallel to other that snaps to tangent of arc nearby

I hope someone can help me.

I need to insert a line that is parallel to AB.Screenshot (111).png

But snaps to the tangent an arc nearby.

Dotted line is just positioned by hand, that that is what I essential want.

Thanks in advance

Have you tried using Copy command Line AB with base point by object snapping to endpoint of Line at B and the 2nd point as  object snap Tangent to Arc then Trim section of Line at A that’s not needed?

Hi,

The fastest way is to use from Parametric ( GCTANGENT command ) .. Click on below image

Then you can delete the constraint by DelConstraint command from the same previous menu

Using perpendicular object snap create a line from the center of the arc to line AB. Now copy the line AB from B to the intersection of the perpendicular line and the arc.

If I understand you correctly, then it results in this:

This is 100% what I want to achieve, but I am using AutoCAD LT, it doesn't seem to have full access to parametric constraints as shown in the video / image above.

This worked, perfect, thank you.

You're right ... 😉

In AutoCAD LT, parametric drawing technology is limited , While it is not possible to create or edit geometric and dimensional constraints in AutoCAD LT, you can still view, work with, and save constrained drawings.

Thanks for the info.

I suppose the onus is on us (LT users) to find creative work arounds, and share with the community.

@LGL_Design  You are welcome. It looks like in your first try the the perpedicular line was not from the center.  Here's what I got.

Bonjour @LGL_Design

Your line is secant, not tangent.
