Insert Layout from Temlate - Blocks not to scale

Morning,

Its been ages since I have used Autocad and I have a quick one which might be too simple to solve but somehow I cant see what am I missing...The layouts are in a template in layout space consisting of a several blocks with attributes and visibility controls. When inserted into any other DWG it works fine except for one particular file. When athe layout is inserted from the template 4 specific blocks are not inserted to scale (in the right position but x1000).

  1. Layout units is in meters
  2. The same blocks are inserted fine and at the right scale into all other files
  3. DWGunits and Insert Units settings in both the offending drawing file and the layout template are also in meters
  4. cross checked the settings of the current dwg against those of the another dwg into which the layout can be inserted with no issues...all appear to be identical
  5. INSUNITDEF for both source and target is set to 6 (meters)

There must be something which I have missed...any input or tips are appreciated

Is it possible that the dwg you’re in already has those blocks defined?

Could you share the template (dwt) & the drawing(dwg)before the insert here?

Originally, no. The DWG file they’re trying to insert the layout into comes from an external office. The blocks were loaded for the first time along with the layout, and the drawing was purged after each attempt yet the issue persisted.

What’s confusing is that the same layout contains a total of 12 of these blocks, but only 4 are behaving abnormally. Interestingly, when I inserted one of the problematic blocks individually into a blank layout, it scaled and displayed correctly. The issue only occurs when inserting the layout; thats when those 4 blocks act strangely.

At one point, I thought the problem might be related to the text or labels, but two of the affected blocks don’t contain any text at all.

I’ve already left the office, I’ll ask the draftsman when Im back to remove any client sensitive information and upload a clean version of the file here but I’m now wondering if the behavior could be related to the drawing being hosted on the cloud (cash related issue?). The reference files I tested against were all local
