In AutoCAD 2024, I can not change Custom Plotter Settings

MyTymMachine

Explorer

When in Page Setup Manager (AutoCAD 2024), Modify, Plotter is Selected, click on 'Custom Settings', I select monochrome and then in Paper tab- I select Rotate 90 degrees (to save paper). Then OK, close ect. I go back and find everything reverted back to the Default Settings. My Plans Plot out turned wrong and I gotta cut off 6" edges. Why wont the Settings I put in as I always have, Stay Set? I just bought the 2024 edition and I wish I still had 2023.

Thanks for all advice and help!

@MyTymMachine ,

Try resetting AutoCAD to default:

Also verify your system requirements:

Thanks for the Fast Reply! I tried Resetting to Defaults with no luck. The Plotter Settings I put in just won't stick. I've used this computer for running ACAD 2022 and 2023 and never had an issue so I don't know what to do next?

Since you cannot actually BUY any AutoCAD license outright anymore (it's a pay-to-play licensing model, you pay them over and over and over again whether you are using 2023 or 2024), PLUS Autodesk in your license agreement allows you to use 2023 (and 2022, 2021 and 2020) versions too, may I ask why you've not reverted back again if 2024 is not working for you?

And if I may ask, are you trying to create a PC3 file for your plotter with the procedures you've stated?

Yes, I am renting it... I probably will revert back to 2023 if there isn't a Fix. Yes, I ultimately am changing the file which will be different than the Default settings.

Foe me, AutoCAD2024 stops to ask me if I which to choose a permanent PC3 file or not, just like in 2023: I see you make no mention of that in your post, are you not getting it?

Yes each time I do save the changes to the plotter file, doesn't seem to
make the setting changes stick no matter how many times I try...

Just discovered this exact issue today. I only installed Acad 2024 last week.
I use custom printer settings to print e.g. 200gsm Cardstock from my Xerox's Bypass tray. I need to change these settings to perform this. Not only can't I get the setting to stick as a permanently saved custom setting. I can't even change them on the fly to print to these custom settings at all.
This is a critical printing procedure I need to perform for certain legal documents. I'm having to get others with older Acad versions to do this printing for me.
Need a fix pretty quickly!!!

I went in through Windows Printer settings, found my Plotter and made all
the settings there and they stuck. Been fine ever since, hope that helps
you?

Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately, this is what I already do for 90% of the prints. It's the other category of prints being Cardstock and modified tray settings I need the custom PC3 for. Changing the default printer settings in Windows every time I need to print the Cardstock documents would be painful and annoying. It's clearly a fault in Acad 2024 as I've done it this way for 25 years.

"Changing the default printer settings in Windows every time..."

Another option (available to some) is to add a second instance of the printer in Windows with the special settings set there.

Not a solution, just another workaround, until this is fixed.
